Such suuggling will not however be affected in

any degree by the size of the pots containing the drug.

There is believed to be a genuine demand for opium in quantities of more than five taels for local consumption among the better class Chinese the amount of such demand being estimated at between 3,000 and 4,000 taels per month. Under former conditions of the Opium Farm such an estimate could not be arrived at with much accuracy, but it is considered that it will be possible to give definite figures in the matter of tais kind of sale during the current lease.
